Brueton parkrun: Puttin’ on a Show

Separate parkrun results special today. Normal service resumed tomorrow. But our Men deserved a special mention after they put on a stunning display on Saturday at Brueton. There was something in the air as they turned up en masse in their fancy shoes and fresh legs.

K&D men were led by Chris Morgan who led no fewer than 4 new PB’s. Chris Morgan ran a 16:34 (PB), Nick Woolley 16:36 (PB), Gareth Wainwright 16:39 (PB) and most eye-popping of all George de Bolla who ran 16:59 (PB).

The K&D Brueton top-10 was re-written as Chris is now 4th, Nick 5th, Gareth 6th and George de Bolla 10th on the all-time list.

George’s Brueton PB incredibly was 17:49 before he dropped a 16:59. Insane.

Darren John ran his fastest time since he started to get ill in May 18 in 17:42 but only scraped in 12th (!), paced by Gary Polhill (17:38) and Jack Bristow signed off his K&D career before his Manchester move with a 17:09 and Habib Farazmand ran 18:33 but only ended up 17th.

Jane Evans as first woman across the line in 18:07. She was followed by Kerry Ann Thompson in 22:20 and Kathy Bailey in 23:51.

Joining the super-fast fun was Sandra Boot with a new PB of 26:35, Janice Lisieki who ran 25:55, Kev Tomkinson and Alan Green who BOTH stopped the clock in 23:16.

Then there was Steve Armstrong who’s in the MV60-64 age category but managed a new PB of 20:13. That’s an 81.45% age grading. *Jaw to the Floor*
