Club Person of The Year 2020 – Vote Now!
Our Club Awards night might have been postponed along with most of 2020, but there is still much to celebrate about our members’ incredible efforts and achievements over the past season.
One award though is yet to be decided. The Committee have selected five contenders for the title of Club Person of the Year – and it’s up to you to decide the winner.
You should receive an email with a link to vote. If this hasn’t arrived we may need to update your contact details. In that case, please drop us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are the nominations:
Jane Evans – what more do we need to say? She is a phenomenal athlete who receives a nomination for the second year running. Always a star performer, she continues to deliver top performances from leading the ladies cross country team home to topping the rankings on our virtual running challenges. Jane continues to be an inspiration to us all!
Kathy Bailey aka Killer Kathy is a much valued member of the club and ladies team where she is a regular for the hugely successful cross country team. The KK Monday night sessions are now legendary and she also regularly leads a group on Wednesday nights. Kathy is always there to offer any help and advice to those that need it.
A much deserved nomination for K&D stalwart and former chair Richard Dixon. Richard continues to represent the club at every opportunity and the highest level especially in his age category. He also organises the cross country training at Elmdon Park and is an integral part of the Tuesday and Thursday track sessions. Richard is always on hand to offer great advice to the team and new runners alike.
Mike McDonald has been a club member almost from the start and like a fine wine seems to improve with age. A veteran of some 26 Marathons he even ran a virtual Paris marathon around his garden during lockdown fuelled by French wine and brie. A regular on the WRRL scene Mike is never too busy to help and offer great and valuable advice to other club members.
Stephen Ray is another hugely valued member of the K&D Team and a tremendous asset to the club. He quite literally leads from the front on Mondays and Wednesdays on run leader duty come rain or shine. Stephen has also recently overcome injury coming back fitter and stronger than ever before – sometimes even leaving Steve Armstrong in his wake!
