Geoff likes the Centurion GP Series!
A few of us went over to Chelmsley Wood on Sunday to try out the first of a winter series of six 5 mile park type runs – and had a great time.
The race HQ is situated in a modern school with good parking. We got changed in a spacious nice warm dining room. Secure baggage area. Registration and handing out numbers took seconds. Runners there from all the Warwickshire clubs – and many familiar faces.
Then a 5 min walk to the 11.00 start in Babbs Mill Park. There is a 2K run for youngsters at 10.30. A 2.5 lap course around the park and lake and partly along the river Cole. All flat on tarmac and stone pathways. A drink of water at the finish and then back to the school for a nice hot cuppa followed by a raffle and presentation of various prizes. All well organised.
It’s £20 for the series and so still time to enter for the next runs on the first Sunday of each month (4 to count for the series prizes). Details at;
