For those of you wondering why Richard Clark took 6 1/2 hours to complete the London Marathon last week we have an answer!
I participated in this year’s London Marathon, but didn’t do the traditional run. Instead, I wore boots and carried a 42 lb bergen to help me prepare for the COPS 30 event in September. This is a 30 mile ‘yomp’ over the Cheviots. It replicates the 30 mile yomp across Dartmoor that Royal Marine recruits must complete at the end of their training. I felt relatively comfortable until about half way. After that, sore shoulders and feet slowed my down. Happy with 6:27, but need to work on a more even pace!
K&D: Madder than a box of frogs.
