Men’s XC Results – Already Looking Forward

After 2 solid years of punching above our weight, battling the behemoths of Birmingham Uni, Loughbrough Uni and Birchfield et. al. Knowle & Dorridge RC’s time in Division 1 came to a close on Saturday in Wolverhampton.

With injuries to some of our top runners we lost points and ground over the course of the season despite brave efforts from the likes of Chris Sharp who has ran through his niggles and a range of club athletes of all speeds digging in. The spirit of the team was encapsulated in the singing of the ‘K&D go down, K&D go down together, come back up… etc. etc.’ The rest wasn’t publishable on a website though.

The K&D men have gone down but in the relegation there are positives for next season.

Wolverhampton XC Results:
44th – Chris Sharp
89th – Gareth Wainwright
106th – Chris Morgan
107th – Darren John
126th – Jack Bristow
144th – Simon Bentley
147th – Richard Dixon
171st – Dave Carbutt
175th – Tim Price
179th – Torsten Roesler
184th – Michael Swann
204th – Greg Turner

Our A Team finished 13th on the day. A brilliant result, beating the University of Warwick, Kenilworth Runners and Trentham. Ourr B team were 8th overall. With that strength in depth our K&D men are looking forward to a strong promotion challenge next year.

Massive thanks to our women’s team for staying to cheer us on after their own race.
