Despite missing a couple of our faster guys, the K&D Boys put in another storming performance yesterday in the third fixture of this years Division 2 Birmingham Cross Country League.
After the recent wet weather Burbage Common was damp under foot with some good boggy sections to get stuck in to. With a strong wind to contend with conditions were certainly challenging over the 3 times just over 2 mile course.
Chris Sharp lead the A Team home taking 19th place in 38:10. Young Joe Read was a little over 30 seconds back with Big Tim, Captain Si, Novak Morgan and Mike Swann making up the top 6.
The A Team took 6th place on the day to retain their 5th place in the League.
The B Team took 4th on the day thanks to fine performances from The Chairman, Torsten Roesler, Jon “Too Hot to Handle” Randell, Paul “Face of Pain” Baker, Big Dave Carbutt and The Boake Machine who held off a charging Pete Morgan-Warren on the line!
The result consolidated the B Team’s strong 5th overall in the League.
Special mention for Russell Davies who supported the team by turning out despite recent illness and also treated the Chairman to a rather splendid pint back at the Club after!

The final fixture of the year is on February 7th over at Wolverhampton. The girls are running their final fixture at the same venue so it would be good to see a really fantastic team turn out to round off what has been another excellent cross country season for team K&D!
