THE RUNDOWN – 29TH MAY: EDINBURGH MARATHON & HALF MARATHON & PARKRUN
Edinburgh Marathon & Half Marathon
Reasonably quiet week on the racing front, with just the Edinburgh Marathon/Half to report on this week, but seeing a good contingent of K&D runners travelling to Scotland to take part in one of the fastest courses in the UK
For the marathon distance, first back for K&D was Jason Pitcher in 3 hours 19 minutes (and 11 seconds), with Darren John just behind in 3 hours 19 minutes (and 54 seconds). John Carthew was next to finish in 3 hours 54 minutes, followed by Camille Neal in 4 hours 23 minutes, with Mike McDonald next to finish, completing his 35th marathon in 4 hours 32 minutes.
For the Half Marathon distance, Katie Price was first K&D back, in a new PB time of 1 hour 54 minutes, closely followed by new member Rich Hegan in 1 hour 56, with Karen Sweeney coming in just behind them in 2 hours 11 minutes.
Parkrun Roundup
Lovely sunny morning at most parkruns around the UK, with over 50 K&D members out there around the country. Surprisingly (given the excellent conditions) just one PB to report this week: well done Lewis Towers on your new parkrun PB of 19:45. Special mentions this week to Gary Polhill who was 2nd overall at Brueton, with another 1st lady at Brueton for Juliet Jones.
