LONDON MARATHON
The 2021 London Marathon didn’t disappoint, either in atmosphere, great running weather or superb results for the K&D team. Rob Michaelson-Yeates finished in a phenomenal time of 2:28:33, coming 61st overall, with Gary Polhill not far behind in 2:35:31, with Danny Malone, Steven Whatmore and Paul Bentley all finishing in under 3 hours. Kate Leeson led the K&D ladies home, finishing in 3 hours and 52 minutes. Special mention also to Jo Tork, who did the Virtual event just weeks after a knee operation, completing the 26.2 miles in a time of 8 hours and 30 minutes, and to Jack Whitehouse who completed the event despite spending a couple of hours in the medical tent just a couple of miles from the end. Loch Ness Marathon, Rugby 10 mile & Abersoch 10k
John Garside and Mike Macdonald travelled to Scotland for the Loch Ness Marathon, completing this challenging course in 4 hours 12 minutes and 4 hours 16 respectively.
Down in Wales, Ladies Captain Caroline Edwards and husband Graham Edwards completed a very wet and hilly Abersoch 10k, both finishing in a time of 1 hour, 12 minutes
Closer to home, Emma Donnelly took on the Rugby 10 mile race, finishing 70th overall in a time of 1:25:44
Coniston 10k & 15k Trail Races
It was a wet and windy Saturday in the Lakes for the group who travelled there for the Coniston 10k and 15k trail races, with plenty of mud and water out there on the trails too. Great run from Andy Connors who led the K&D men back, despite his “dip” in the stream!

Parkrun Roundup
Slightly quieter week at parkrun due to the marathons, but still an excellent attendance. Chris Morgan and Gareth Wainwright finished 1st and 2nd at the home Brueton parkrun, both in super-speedy times under 17 minutes. Just one PB at Brueton this week for Hannah Hopkin, and PBs also for Jenni Tomkinson and Alison Giblin over at Oaklands – well done ladies!
