THE RUNDOWN – 4TH APRIL: Manchester Marathon, London Landmarks HM, Reading HM, Cathedral to Castle 10m Run & parkrun

Manchester Marathon

The chilly start to the 2022 Manchester marathon didn’t stop our runners enjoying the race and producing some great times! First back for K&D was Richard Dixon, posting a sub 3-hour time, closely followed by Paul Baker who also came in under the 3-hour mark, with Paul Bentley just behind.

Anna Delaney was first K&D lady back, with Hannah Gibson not far behind and looking like she enjoyed every minute of the run! Full results for all our runners in the table below:

Reading Half marathon and the Cathedral to Castle 10 mile race

It was the popular Reading Half Marathon for Nick Woolley, who finished in a super-speedy 1 hour and 13 minutes, and not that far behind the elite men finishers (placings not available at the time of going to press)

The “Cathedral to Castle” race covers a 10 mile course from Lichfield Cathedral,  taking a varied route along roads, paths, tracks and canal towpaths and passing through Hopwas Woods before finishing at Tamworth Castle Grounds. Tanya Cronin and Kay Adenipekun were the K&D representatives, finishing in in 1 hour 33 minutes and 1 hour 34 minutes respectively

Parkrun Roundup

Slightly quieter parkrun than usual, mainly due to marathon/HM racing, and also the start of Easter holiday for some too. And just one PB to report this week: well done to George de Bolla for breaking the 17-minute milestone, coming 2nd overall in a time of 16:53 at Longrun Meadow parkrun
