Congrats to Jane Evans who clocked a cider-winning performance at the Abersoch 10k in 38:08 – chanelling her inner surf-dudette in the process.
Dorridge Fun Run
The scenic Dorridge Fun Run took place on Sunday. The 8.2mile route saw Dave Carbutt run 54:01 to be first K&D runner home. Results aren’t listed by club but results can be found here: Dorridge Fun Run Results
Darren John’s achilles put paid to his run at Derby’s Ramathon Half Marathon. He had to drop off in the second half of the race as his heel flared up coming home in 1:24:33.
Chris Morgan delivered a super fast run at Brueton on Saturday dropping a 17:07 like it was going out of fashion. He was just ahead of Gareth Wainwright who ran 17:23. Third K&D man was Richard Dixon in 18:53. For the women Jane Hunt led the way in 22:30 followed by Elaine Callinan who ran 23:03 and Sarah Connors in 24:17.
There were personal bests on Saturday for the following K&D runners:
Sarah Church – 37:31
Paul Winwood – 24:05
Congrats to Amanda Crees and Katie Oliver who joined the 50 club this week.
Arrow Valley parkrun
Three of our finest ladies took the morning tourist bus to Arrow Valley where they put some K&D class into the mix. The results were as follows:
Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell – 28:37
Tracy Davies – 30:41
Claire Deeley – 30:42
Cannon Hill parkrun:
Second stop on the tourist bus was Cannon Hill where Darren John ran 17:45 and Kate Marsh ran 25:12.
Third stop on the terribly organised tourist bus was for Sarah Cattell who got dropped off in Cheltenham. She ran 25:05.
Kingsbury Water parkrun:
Whoever planned this tourist bus is awful; Birmingham to Cheltenham to Sutton makes no sense. Simon Battson ran 25:09 at least.
Next stop was Dartford. The petrol costs are going to be horrendous for this parkrun tourist bus company. Ian Maidment ran 26:45.
Stephen Evans ran 25:40. Unfortunately for Stephen the terribly planned parkrun tourist bus company is basically going bust so he’ll be walking home.
