Weekend Recap: And We’re Back in WRRL Business…

,

Somehow it is April and the WRRL has kicked off again. It was only January last week wasn’t it? When did THAT happen?

Massey Ferguson Tractor 10k

Despite a week of manky weather the Easter Bunny was kind to the K&D Massive on Sunday 1st April. Easter and April Fools Day. But K&D were in no mood for joking around as winter training was put behind our athletes with a slew of PB’s and great season openers.

Chris Sharp took a comfortable second place overall while Rosie Marsh PB’d and took home the senior women’s trophy.

Emma Lowe’s other half provided a  whole load of fantastic photo’s that can be found here:

Brueton parkrun:

In cold, wet, miserable conditions Brueton parkrun was managed by the Youth on Saturday. Who took a break from Snap-tatting and using the Twitters to put on an excellent event. Congrats to the young whipper snappers who braved ‘mingin’ conditions.

Gareth Wainwright rolled back his years to clock 17:07 – just being beaten by one of those young-types. Behind him Darren John tried to nip in under 18… misjudging it ever so slightly to run 18:00. D’oh.  Rob Michaelson-Yeates cruised round in 18:58.

For the women Felicity Sharp continued her rapid return to form taking home First Lady in 22:28 while only Siobhan Cotter and Louise Bell battled it out, finally separated by only 4 seconds. They ran 24:10 and 24:14 respectively.

Gorelston Cliffs

Great Yarmouth played host to Steve McDonald who clocked 22:24 in the picturesque Goreleston Cliffs setting.

Cannon Hill parkrun

Ainsley Wainwright took the short trip to Cannon Hill on Saturday.  He ran a superb 20:03 to make sure it was two Wainwright in this weekend’s write-up.

Newbury parkrun

Newbury for Gary Welsh on Saturday. He ran 22:42.

Huddersfield parkrun

Greg Turner found himself up in t’north and ran a solid 20:33 at the home of the Terriers.

Barrow parkrun

Jonathon Bellman from Coach Colin’s Tuesday and Thursday sessions knocked out a more than decent 19:00 in Barrow.

Kingsbury parkrun

Simon Battson took on a very wet Kingsbury Water parkrun running 24:40 in the mud.

Dungloe parkrun

O’Donnell #1 and #2 (depending on preference) enjoyed Dungloe. Paul ran 23:03 and Siobhan ran 29:15.
