Weekend Recap: Aquathlon Honours for Callinan, Queens of Scotland, Vital 10k


Bratislava Duathlon

Congratulations to Elaine Callinan for collecting silver medal in age category representing GBR at aquathlon in Bratislava yesterday.

Edinburgh Marathon Festival

Congratulations to Emma Lowe who ran Edinburgh Marathon. She smashed a 4:25:33. No mean feat on one of the hottest weekends of the year.

Over the weekend a number of our most quiet and dignified ladies also ran the EMF 10k. You may have seen their updates over the weekend on social media. They seemed to have a riot of a time inb the luxurious Haggis Hostel. Results were as follows:

Vitality 10000

The British 10k Road Championships took place in London on Bank Holiday Monday as 12,000 runners took to the streets of London. Jo Pavey and Andrew Butchart took the Women’s and Men’s titles; Andy Butchard retained his title having flown back from the Eugene Diamond League meeting where he ran the 5000 on Saturday night. Who needs Jet lag?

Brueton parkrun

Knowle & Dorridge took the first four places at Brueton on Saturday with Chris Sharp leading the charge in 17:06. He was followed by Gareth Wainwright 17:45 and a barcodeless Chris Morgan.

Louise Marklew was our Women’s leader in 23:17. Jan Hornby took second in 25:46 in a new PB and she was followed closely by Kate Marsh in 26:25. Well done to Louise Marklew for joining the 50 club.

Basingstoke parkrun

Imogen Rowe ran 26:31 over in Basingstoke.

Torbay Velopark

John Garside ran 21:54 at Torbay Velopark parkrun. Hope he got an hour or two paddling in the sea at Goodrington Sands.

Arrow Valley parkrun

Pete Austin mixed things up with a trip to Arrow Valley. Pete Austin clocked 20:55.

Brockenhurst parkrun

The Stapley’s took a trip and finished hand in hand in 31:08. Karen got given the nod though just pipping Mike on the line.

Kingsbury Water parkrun

Simon Battson took a trip round the lakes in 25:49.
