Weekend Recap: Centurions GP #2 and parkrun roundup

, ,

Centurions GP#2:

The benefit of Centurions being a day after Cross Country league fixtures is a thinner field as many of those quick ‘uns can’t handle a double weekend (softies!). For those with an eye on the series table and looking at age category trophies it gives a great opportunity to sneak a few extra places up the table and register a handy points bonus.

A slightly lethargic pre-race natter suggested it might be a tough one, until Ann turned up in what can only be described as the loudest Christmas themed tights ever seen.

Brueton parkrun:

With the K&D Gentlemen and Ladies in XC action there was a thinner green and gold contingent at Brueton this week. Gareth Wainwright ran 17:23 to consolidate his recent good form while Paul Williams was only a second off his PB in 19:10. Recent recruit Phillip Lindsey ran 20:26, a second PB in recent weeks. Clearly joining K&D works wonders for your PB’s.

Our ladies were well represented by a PB by Isabel Arthur in 26:44. Anne Gay clocked 27:56 and Imogen Rowe came home in 28:07.

The hottest ticket in Solihull these days is a place in PB Corner.
In the booth already are Phillip Lindsey, Isabel Arthur.

This week they are joined by Mark Ritson (21:07) and Lianne Le Swann (29:24). They have a bit more elbow room this week but still have to pay for the celebratory champagne themselves.

Arrow Valley parkrun

Ian Maidment ran 25:42 at Arrow Valley parkrun in Redditch.

Woodley parkrun

Down in Reading Subhash Agarwalla clocked 25:50.

Kingsbury Water Park parkrun

Sarah Cattell made the short journey over to Kingsbury for a jaunt round the lakes. She ran the 5k in a time of 24:58.

Shrewsbury parkrun

Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell took herself off on tour to Shrewsbury running 27:35.
