Weekend Recap: Northbrook, H&W10k, BBMHM,

Northbrook 10k: It’s only 7km uphill… In 28 degree temperatures the WRRL was scorchio. Chris Sharp took the win with a superb 33:50 in difficult conditions. He was backed up by Torsten Roesler in 37:45 and Ed Bower in 43:50.

Birmingham & Black Country Half Marathon

A Saturday point to point half for Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell and Claire Maggs. Ann ran a 2:14:06 while Claire ran 2:36:39 enjoying the run along the superb Midlands canal network.  Shame they can’t take selfie’s though.

Hollywood & Wythall 10k
Paul Bentley led a small contingent at this local and well supported 10k. Paul ran a superb 38:50. Andrew Knowles took second in 47:44 followed Darren John, still ‘enjoying’ his chest infection, with a 48:03 training run. Our first woman was Kate Marsh in 52:56.

Bushy parkrun
Some of K&D’s finest… (and Darren) took local hero Margaret Smith to the now annual Busy parkrun Octogenarian Celebration. A 4:30am wake-up, a 5:30am meet, 2 hours in a mini-bus, parkrun, ice-cream at Hampton Palace and a smelly sweaty minibus back streaming the football. Superb!

Brueton parkrun:

A quiet one at the front of the pack for K&D. Gareth Wainwright led the team with a 17:43, Paul Bentley ran 18:58 and Jonathan Randell rounded out the top-3 in 19:23. Jane Hunt was our #1 female on Saturday as she ran 23:24. Sarah Cattell took 2nd in 26:23 and Zoe Barber made a debut on the podium with 27:19.

Upton House parkrun:
Steve Marks popped up in Upton House which seems way too classy for him… he ran 36:51.

Bakewell parkrun:
Home to the world famous Tart. Gail Partridge ran 30:51. And showed why punctuation is very important. That crucial full stop just saved Darren from a black eye.
