Weekend Recap: Tri-tastic performances, Duels in Dorridge + parkrun fun

, ,

This weeks recap ventures to the dark side; the world of Triathlon. Where the crazy go to swim, bike and run for hours with only a wet-suit, some goggles and saddle sores for company.

Massive congratulations go to Flick Sharp who decided to tackle her first triathlon at Blenheim Palace. A 0.75km Swim, a 20k Cycle and a 5k Run in 01:44:25. Keith Whitehead took on the half-ironman distance Ragley Hall Avenger Triathlon – clocking in at 6 hours and 39 minutes in a highly impressive display of endurance.

Closer to home, K&D were well represented at the annual Dorridge Fun Run. Unfortunately the results don’t list club association. To those that ran in warm conditions – a big well done. Selected results can be found here: Dorridge Fun Run Results

And finally the weekly parkrun roundup: 23 K&D runners at parkrun this week. There were two PB’s:

Louise Willetts – recording her 4th pb on the trot. In the process she took a huge 1:46 off her previous best, clocking in at 25:17.

Christopher Taylor broke 24 minutes for the first time, finishing in 23:58. His last 5 parkruns have been ran in 27, 26, 25, 24 and 23 minutes. #progress

Well done to everyone who ran this weekend. Remember this week marks the real business end of the Warwickshire Road Race League!

Wednesday 8th June – Sphinx 5, Coventry.

Sunday 12th June – Two Castles
(Starts in Warwick, ends in Kenilworth – don’t get it the wrong way round!)

and then the biggie…

the diamond in the WRRL crown…

Sunday 19th June – The Arden 9.

You know the drill; this is our race. Volunteers, runners, cake makers – check your emails from Our Dear Leader, Lord of the Dance, the Supreme Chairman etc. etc. for how you can help us continue the success of this K&D organised event.

Have a good run, and take care in the sun.
