WRRL: Rugby 10 Mile… like Eminem’s 8 Mile but Longer

, ,

After months of racing it all came down to ten miles. Rugby’s 10 Miler. The last race of this seasons Warwickshire Road Race league. With a number of injuries scuppering several runners at the moment, added to the Autumn Half and Marathon season being upon us numbers were down slightly on our usual mass turn out. However there were still a number of very positive results.

The fleet-footed Joseph Read and Lorraine Hobbs led the men and women home. Joe broke the 60 minute mark which is always a sign of a great 10 mile run, while Lorraine ran a very impressive 77 minutes.

The benefits of entry numbers being a little down on usual means everyone can get their result listed below. Bonus.

Joseph Read – 58:25
Richard Dixon – 1:02:20
David Carbutt – 1:07:24
Clive Dickens – 1:11:39
Steve Armstrong – 1:14:06
Lorraine Hobbs – 1:17:14
Kathy Bailey – 1:20:23
Jane Hunt – 1:20:24
Keith Whitehead – 1:25:28
Hala Atkin – 1:25:42
Linda Whitehead – 1:45:07

Several of the Men’s team were discussing funny shaped balls after the race…

We’re assuming they were discussing Rugby’s origins at the near by Rugby School. Though David Carbutt’s shorts were quite tight.

Well done to everyone who ran in the WRRL league this season, especially those running enough events to count in the final league tables. We’ll be crunching the numbers once the results are up and bringing you the final standings as soon as we can.
