Well done to all of you who ran the recent Birmingham 10k.
Most people seemed to enjoy the event and the feedback has been positive. So, if you didn’t run it this year, you may want to consider entering in 2017.
Here’s what Alina and Steven said about the race :-
I did the great birmingham run (10k). It was great! I really enjoyed it, apart from a killer hill at 6.5k!!! There were musicians and bands at every kilometre marker and the crowds really spurred everyone on. I even managed a sprint finish! I managed to do it in 56.06 and as it was my first 10k I was pleased with that. …I would have been faster if the hill hadn’t been so steep! Ha ha.
I did it on my own as my running partner was injured, but everyone was really friendly
Personally, this was my first event since last August coming back from injuries last year and a slow off-season. I therefore set a very cautious target of 8.30 minute miles versus my race pace previously of 8.00. The run attracted over 6,000 runners and as usual had a lot of fun and charity folks and heavy traffic unless you were in the early groups. It was well organised and marshalled with a fantastic finish in Broad Street, as has been the case for the Birmingham Half over the years. It was an enjoyable and sociable event. I too wanted to find the results by club, but I don’t think this functionality is supported by the search/query feature. Let me know if you learn differently. Finally, I got round in 51.44 having an enjoyable 7.00 minute mile pace for the final 0.4 miles.
Thanks for sharing Alina and Steven.
