“Don’t Count The Laps….

…Make The Laps Count.”

A race with lots of laps?  That can only mean one thing, Spring is springing, the XC season is ending and it’s for our annual day trip to Sutton Park for the Midland Road Relays.  If you’ve not heard about the road relays they are a great race, great fun, and about the closest us runners get to a team race.

As ever the Midland Road Relays will take place in Sutton Park – this year a little later than usual on Saturday 2nd April.  The Men’s Teams race over a total of 12 stages (4 long and 8 short) whilst the Ladies Teams race over 6 stages (short).  A long leg is around 5.4 miles and a short leg is around 2.9 miles.

Please note the top 30 teams will qualify for the National Road Relays, which will take place 2 or 3 weeks later in early April also in Sutton Park.  Our Men’s A Team has qualified for the National Road Relays in the both of the last 3 road relays and it would be absolutely terrific if we could keep that streak up.

If you are interested (of course you are) and available can you please drop one of your club captains an email.
