Weekend Recap: Non-Muddy parkrun roundup

While the XC teams were off to Coventry and Cheltenham our other members were holding the fort at home.

Brueton parkrun:

It was Gareth Wainwright at the head of the K&D field on Saturday morning. Running 17:23 Gareth was third runner overall.  Paul Bentley, fresh from winning a fiver at Centurions (taking his career winnings to a fiver…) was second K&D man. Paul ran 19:05, just ahead of Michael Swann in 19:26.

Emma Lowe took the garland for our women on Saturday morning with a swift 22:09 run. Mary Heald ran an impressibe 22:53 (with buggy) and Siobhan Cotter in 24:02.

Smita Deshpande went faster than she ever has before with a PB of 27:38. Lennie Watson joined Smita in PB Corner with a shiny new time of 44:05. Finally a special congratulations to Anthony Dutton, who after a massive battle with injuries ran 20:48. A sensational return for one of the most relentlessly positive and popular parkrunners – something we’re all please to see.

Stewart parkrun:

Up in t’North and wor Ian Naisbitt ran Stewart parkrun in Middelsborough. His 21:17 was the best sporting performance in Middelsborough since Juninho inspired the Boro to a 5-1 win against Tottenham in the Premier League on 3rd May 2003.
