This Wednesday we awarded our runner of the month award, sponsored kindly by Birmingham Runner, for January 2015.
This month’s winner was a most popular choice. He has become an essential member of our little running club and certainly puts in a lot more than he gets out. He is ever present on Wednesday nights and has ably led the Improvers Group providing an immense amount of advice, encouragement and support to many of our runners. Recently, however, he has been the driving force in setting up and leading our 0-3 mile challenge group that started in January.
In addition this month’s winner has also hit running form running successive pbs over 5 miles of 38:50 at the Centurion Grand Prix on 5th January and 38:41 at the same race on 1st February (ok, not quite in January, but close enough!) – taking over 90 seconds of his previous best. In a busy month of racing he also completed the tough Not the Roman IX in 58:49.
So our runner of the month award goes to….Geoff Lewis!
Well done Geoff, the award is most deserved and the K and D committee are delighted to be able to recognise all the effort you have put into our club.
