XC reports will come later but for now here is the rest of the weekend action:
Brueton parkrun
With fears of a monsoon-like deluge it was a hastily cobbled together course, adjusted so that runners, scanners, marshalls and spectators could take shelter in the Brueton parkrun Maori hut. As the weather is want to do, it then trolled us all with a pleasant and refreshing mist instead of the expected white-water rapids inducing downpour. I blame Michael Fish.
With XC Leagues kicking off in the afternoon it was a much depleted field this week.
Anthony Dutton was first K&D man across the line in 20:14. He was followed by Paul Williams in 20:37. Andrew Cox rounded out the male top-3 with a 21:48 run.
Flick Sharp was third K&D runner home overall, and first lady for the club. Her 20:50 time was a strong run on a slightly longer than usual course. Siobhan Cotter ran 25:05 to continue her run of regular appearances in this section. Sarah Cattell’s 25:42 took her to third for K&D ladies. Smita Deshpande ran 29:41 to record a PB. Read more
