Hello masochists.

For the fourth year K&D are planning a weekend away at Thunder Run. a 24 Hour, 10k Trail Relay on 21st & 22nd July 2018 just outside Tamworth in beautifull Catton.

Teams can be Solo, Pairs, 3-5 or 5-8. Entry is usually about £55 for individuals.

If you want to run we can enter teams on 10th Oct @ 10am (Usually sells out in 1 hour so we need to know ahead of time). If you put your name down you commit to paying the £55ish in Oct but we’ll do our very best to find replacements to reimburse if injuries/illness etc mean you can’t do it in July.

Last year Paul Winwood, Kate Marsh, Darren John, Anna Perry, Mark Amyes, Rob Stewart, Phil Lindsay, Richard Drakeley and Max Mladenovic weathered torrential storms to rack up about 250 miles in two teams. Its stupid but mighty fun! All standards of runners are accepted into K&D Warriors – we just suggest you feel comfortable running at least 3 10k laps at an easy pace (70-80 min) over 24 hours in order to enjoy the event.

Thunder Run 24, the now iconic twenty-four hour relay in the Derbyshire countryside took place again this weekend. 2,500 idiots running around in circles of absurd steep hills, exposed ridges and technical trails from midday Saturday to midday Sunday. This year Thunder Run seemed to move location from the Derbyshire countryside to the surface of the sun. The race started in blisteringly hot conditions; many a grumble through the nK&D Warriorsext 24 hours focusing on the strength sapping nature of the heat. It seemed to take particular toll on those foolhardy solo runners; although the solo male winner still clocked up well over one hundred miles.
