Weekend Recap: A parkrun sprinkle

Midlands XC Champs Results are yet to be uploaded to their website; possibly due to livestock issues – more on that later…. For you’ll just have to now enjoy your weekly parkrun roundup.

Brueton parkrun:

Three of the top 5 were made up of K&D Runners on Saturday. Gareth Wainwright led the way with a solid 17:22, followed by Darren John in a new PB of 17:41. Chasing them down was Jane Evans; who having had the last two week’s course changes nix a quick time was rewarded this time round with an 18:03.

Third man home was Rob Ambrose in 19:01. For the ladies Flick Sharp clocked a swift 19:51. Jane Hunt celebrated her birthday weekend with a 23:41 finish. (Happy Birthday!)

With a slower start due to using Brueton’s wet course; starting at the Maori hut, the quick times were positive signs this early in the new year.

There were PB’s over 5k this week for Darren John (17:41) and Ian Naisbitt (21:23).

No new parkrun club members this week.

Coventry parkrun:

Richard Dixon continued his tour of local parkruns with a 19:24 over at Coventry’s War Memorial Park. He finished 8th overall.
