Weekend Recap: parkrun roundup

With the National XC Champs results being written up for Monday evening your weekend roundup is brought to you on Sunday.

Brueton parkrun:
Chris Sharp ran a nice 17:44. A relatively sedate run for him but perfect pacing for George de Bolla who smashed his PB to run 17:57 and join the K&D Sub-18 club. Jane Evans led the women to take her First Woman tally up to 56. Did you know Jane holds the Brueton record for most First places? No man nor woman has finished first in their gender competition more time’s than K&D’s JE. Her 18:01 was very impressive. Paul Bentley was third K&D man in 19:04.

Matching George de Bolla was Caroline Park. 2nd K&D’er and also a PB running 23:03 as she continues to benefit from a great winter’s training and cross country. Jane Hunt rounded out the K&D women’s top-3 in 23:45.

With Summer-like weather it was a perfect day for running fast. Joining George and Caroline in the PB-Bistro on Saturday for a top-notch PB Feast were:

Zoe Wallis – 32:20 (PB!)
Chris Privett – 27:57 (PB!)
Gareth Lloyd – 25:06 (PB!)
Jason Pitcher – 21:05 (PB!)

Top-PB’ing team.

Bromley parkrun:
Adam O’nions ran a beautifully numerical 21:21.

Eastleigh parkrun:
Rob Mundy nipped under 21 to clock 20:54 in Eastleigh

Arrow Valley parkrun:
Jack Whitehouse ran an excellent all-time PB of 21:26 at Arrow Valley on Saturday.

Cannon Hill parkrun:
An easy one for Johnny Bellman as he stopped the clock in a trott of 29:29. Another numerical delight.

Worcester Pitchcroft parkrun:
John Garside put his marathon training into effect at the fast Worcester Pitchcroft. John ran 21:49.

Walsall Arboretum parkrun:
Otherwise known as the home of England International and Uber-parkrun fan/speedster Hayley Carruther. Pete Makepeace enjoyed a leisurely 34:48. Getting much more worth for his money.

Barnstaple parkrun:
Richard Lisiecki clocked a comfy 24:58.

Pontypridd parkrun:
Back in the homeland Steve Marks ticked off Pontypridd for the second time. Enjoying a stroll round in 51:55 and enjoying the lovely weather.

Tewkesbury parkrun:
Lissy Calvert took in Tewkesbury on Saturday in a pleasant 40:11.

Stratford-upon-Avon parkrun:
26:46 for K&D’s uber-tourista Mr. Kevin Tomkinson. Who also teased the chair with cake in Brueton park on Sunday. The sod.

Fleetwood Promenade:
Conjours images of Victorian strolls with bonnets and mutton chops. Mary Heald tore round like a shiny, new Victorian Steam Enginge to take first woman in 21:26. She’ll want the vote next…
