THE RUNDOWN – 19TH DECEMBER: XMAS PARLAUF REMINDER, PORTSMOUTH COASTAL MARATHON, HOOKY XMAS CANTER & PARKRUN

Christmas Paarlauf Run this Wednesday: 7.30pm!

Quick reminder that the annual K&D Christmas Paarlauf takes place this Wednesday (in place of the normal Wednesday group run). For those of you that have not done it before, Paarlauf literally means “pair running” and is essentially a relay run, with evenly matched pairs competing against each other for the coveted K&D Golden Gnomes (currently held by Greg Turner and Adeba Jama who won them back in 2019 – no race last year due to the pandemic)

Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon

John Garside added yet another marathon to his growing total, which now stands at 37, finishing the Portsmouth Coastal marathon – an undulating out and back course around Langstone Harbour – in a very respectable 4 hours and 17 minutes (and 3 minutes inside his goal time of 4:20). He was 312th overall  in a field of over 570 runners.

Hooky Christmas Canter (7+ miles)

Chris Morgan and Tim Price were is festive mood – certainly Tim was judging by his outfit (pictured here) – travelling to Hook Norton to take on this “terrain hilly run”. Chris finished the 7+ mile course 2nd overall, in a super-speedy time of 45:58, with Tim coming in not far behind in just over 51 minutes.

Parkrun roundup

Great parkrun turnout on Saturday morning, seeing 47 K&D members attend Brueton, with many more touring around the country! Nick Woolley was first overall at Brueton, with Flick Sharp & Jess Woolley 1st & 2nd ladies. PBs this week for Kate Leeson, Tanya Cronin, Darren John and Robert Stewart
