So, the Spring is here and an end to Lockdown is in almost in sight!

Firstly the thanks. Without Fiona Holland and Jo Tork there is no way the awards would run so smoothly. A massive thank you to both individuals who work together like Power Rangers to bring these events together. It couldn’t happen without their superb table planning skills, timetabling or reminding your Chair not to mention Parliament TV too many times.
Secondly a massive thank you to the wonderful Holly Rush. Holly gave a brilliant, honest talk about the highs and lows of running at all levels. Her key message of ‘I bloody love running’ is a feeling we want to inspire in all our club members. Be adventurous, follow what makes you happy, enjoy your food and have a great time running with your friends. Happy runners are the best runners.
And to your awards winners:
Best Male: Chris Sharp
Best Female: Jane Evans
Most Improved Male: Rob Michaelson-Yeates
Most Improved Female: Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell
Most Inspiring: Jack Bristow
Most Committed: Caroline Edwards
Team of the Year: Women’s XC Team
Chairman’s Award: Smita Deshpande
K&D Club Person of the Year: Paul Winwood
We can’t give everyone a trophy (although with the cross country team…) the committee want to put on record our thanks to every member who volunteered, ran, trained and baked cake during a record breaking year. Honestly we have the easiest job as a committee ever. We mostly just let you do your magic.
‘Brief’ Highlights include:
Record Club Membership Numbers
Midlands Road Relay’s Women’s 7th Place
Warwickshire XC Team Bronze
2x Inter Counties Representatives for Warwickshire
A Record 6 men under 3 hours in the Marathon in 2019 (It’s only just May!)
Linda Whitehead and Rob Michaelson-Yeates winning England Masters Representative Vests
Forcing the ITU to change their policy on equality
K&D Men winning promotion to Div. 1
K&D Women dominating Div 2 and becoming Champions
Multiple Championship Start Qualification for London Marathon 2020
Record Marathon GFA Qualification
Hundreds of PB’s across all events, distances and speeds
It’s been ok I guess. No idea how we’re going to top that in 2019/20! Just keep the ball rolling, focus on being happy and good things will happen to good people.
Ladies and Gentlemen it is an honour to present to you the 2018 K&D Awards Winners.
