Congratulations to Mike McDonald who with Paris cancelled took it upon himself to run a marathon in his front and back garden. Fuelled by Cheese and Wine Mike ran 6 hours 28 minutes and raised £368 for his efforts.

Mike’s Story:

I Should have been doing Paris Marathon today, 5th April; but couldn’t go obvs, so instead I brought Paris to me. Fueled by Chateaneuf-du-Pape, coffee, croissants, and Brie; the ‘Not the Paris Marathon’ was in my garden due to the lock-down on behalf of the Warwickshire and Solihull Bloodbikes. As a charity, they volunteer and transport plasma, drugs, X-rays etc. between hospitals for free; saving the NHS the taxi costs which is better spent on patient care, PPE etc. for the front-line staff.

Mike’s Just Giving Page

With Spring a racing write off so far the K&D Chaps have had little racing in their legs before this weekend. But Marathon times call for Marathon measures.

Paris Marathon:

In warm conditions there was no time to stop at the boulangerie as K&D’s Chaps raced aloug the Roux. Though they did spare a moment for some pre-race encouragement to our Manchester marathoners…
