Brueton parkrun:

A storming run by Rob Michaelson-Yeats goes unrecorded as he clocked a sub-18 but didn’t bring his barcode. Therefore this week’s first K&D place is a welcome return to Simon Bentley. Sporting a new go-faster haircut he clocked sub-18 and continued his return to superb running. Chris Morgan did a Rob Michaelson-Yeates so also goes unrecorded. Jonathon Bellman added a second K&D’er place to his resume. Bellman ran 18:44. Paul Bentley rounded out the top 3 by running 19:16.

Mary Heald led the way for our women with a swift 23:05 (with buggy I think!). She was being chased down by Louise Bell though in 23:18 and Jane Hunt in 23:33. You could throw a blanket over those three.

Congrats to Ed Bower who joined the 50 club this week.

Edinburgh parkrun:
Neil Letham took in the views of beautiful Edinburgh as he enjoyed a relaxed 40:44.

Hackney Marshes:
Flat as a pancake, Hackney Marshes provides a super opportunity for good running. Louise Taylor took advantage of the Marshes to run 28:29.

Worcester Pitchcroft parkrun:
One of the quickest parkrun’s in the country saw Anthony Dutton doing horse impressions following his 19:35.

Peterborough parkrun:
Caroline Park put the Park in parkrun as she cropped up in Peterborough and ran an excellent 23:58.

Kingsbury Water parkrun:
Russel Palmer took on the lakes of Kingsbury as he jaunted round in 21:59.

Exeter Riverside parkrun:
An excellent course that takes in the Quay, Ian Naisbitt clocked a superb 22:32.

Kräherwald parkrun:
Amanda Crees became the first K&D’er to parkrun in Germany. Stuttgart is now officially K&D territory. Amanda ran 32:28.

Not the Roman IX

Congrats to Chris Revell who had a brilliant run at the Not the Roman IX. Chris finished 17th in 47.05. A storming run at a race that many use as pre-marathon season prep. Joining Chris was Mark Amyes who ran a strong 54:51. Great times over that course.

2018 Endurancelife CTS Anglesley Half

Gary Wicket went feral over the hills of Wales as he took on the very long named 2018 Endurancelife CTS Anglesley Half in 3:22. The tough, technical course tested Gary but he came through unscathed.

Brueton parkrun

With lots of runners off at Cross Country it gave a chance for others to shine at Brueton. Paul Bentley took advantage and finished 2nd overall with a time of 19:03. Ed Long was second K&D man in 19:55 and Ainsley Wainwright was third in 19:55.

A number of our women were off doing an outstanding job at Cofton Park in the mud but Mary Heald took the responsibility on and finished first K&D Woman in 22:48, Kate Marsh followed up in 25:39 and Karen Stapley took third in 25:54.

Coventry parkrun

Coventry played host to Ian Maidment for 26:00 minutes at parkrun on Saturday.

Colchester Castle parkrun

The Whiteheads took themselves off to do some touristing in Colchester over the weekend. Linda ran 31:08 and Keith continued his recovery from his fracture by walking the course in 46:53.

Peterborough parkrun

Gary Welsh popped up in Peterborough on Saturday. His time of 21:39 placed Gary 36th overall.

Wycombe Rye parkrun

Jack Bristow took the win at Wycombe Rye as he continued his excellent winter. Jack ran 18:12.

Kingsbury Water parkrun

Simon Battson ran 30:40 at Kingsbury on Saturday.

Our men took centre stage this weekend as a brief break in the WRRL season allowed our hairy chested runners to bare some skin and break free of the confines of their office attire. (Note: We aren’t ruling out any of our women having hairy chests either – we accept all at K&D).

Keith Whitehead is first on the list. We’ll let our roving reporter Steve Evans set the scene…

We salute Keith Whitehead and his continuing and unending silliness. The day didn’t quite go to plan – In Keith’s own words:

But to Keith and Linda we applaud the fact you put yourselves out there on the line in the middle of summer!

Similarly Gary Wickett continued his ongoing battle against sanity by completing the Black Country to Birmingham half on Saturday morning, the Timberhonger 10k in the evening and The Compton Verney Half on Sunday. Mad as a box of frogs.

In the Birmingham Black Country Half Gary (2:03:36) was joined by Adam O’Nions in 1:36:02, Clare Carmen in 2:02:25 and Nicola Ridler in 2:03:18. Read more

Brueton parkrun:

Gentlemen usually get to go first in race results so in the name of gender equality…

Elaine Callinan took the honours for K&D Ladies at Brueton parkrun on Saturday. And in a new PB no less. She was rewarded for her recent hard graft and XC racing with a new 5k PB of 22:57. Jane Hunt was just behind in 23:01 and Sarah Cattell clicked 23:55 for third place.

The men were PB Free in the first three. Gareth Wainwright and Darren John were their now habitual one and two at Brueton. Michael Swann put in a snappy performance in third with a 19:03 clocking. Read more
