Weekend Recap: Three, Its the PB Number

, ,

With the final WRRL League results coming later on here is the rest of this weekend’s recap…

Brueton parkrun:

A thirty strong contingent of K&D runners descended on Brueton on Saturday for the weekly parkrun pilgrimage. 12 Years ago this weekend the very first parkrun took place with just a dozen runners loosely affiliated to Paul Sinton-Hewitt, Ranelagh Harriers Running Club and a few others they happened to scoop up along the way. parkrun has been a great route into K&D over the years and long may it continue. Now to the club results:

Men:
1. Gareth Wainwright – 17:12
2. Rob Houlston – (PB) 19:02
3. Paul Williams – (PB) 19:09

Ladies:
1. Felicity Sharp – (PB) 20:17
2. Jenny Owen – 27:38
3. Imogen Rowe – 28:09

Congratulations Rob, Paul and Flick for their PB’s! All three of them are edging towards breaking through some big barriers. Getting results from great training and hard work.

Also well done to both Jenny and Imogen, I think this is their first appearance in the top three’s!

Bournemouth Half

Emma Donnelly almost went a weekend without racing… almost. Instead she ran the Bournmouth half. Perhaps our most prolific female runner she enjoyed a 1:38:26. Commenting that she didn’t “even feel tired and I want to run it all over again!”. Mad as a box of frogs that one.

Warwickshire Triathlon

Dave Monk had a leisurely splash in a pool, had a nice pootle on his bike then finally did some hard work and ran for a bit. Not bad considering his lack of event specific training. K&D Athletes are so tough they can just roll out of bed and do a Triathlon. Fact.

Arrow Valley parkrun

Ann Spenser-Dowdeswell took the short journey over to the Red of Ditch to tackle Arrow Valley parkrun. She ran 27:51 before what appears to be a weekend of well deserved pampering.

Kingsbury Waterpark

Simon Battson’s run of Kingsbury jaunts continues with a 23:18 clocking.

And that’s it for this week. Good Running Team!
