Weekend Recap: Goodbye 2016

Brueton parkrun:

And so we say farewell to 2016. While Jools’ Hootenanny VIP list has been whittled down to The Chuckle Brothers and Boy George due to every other celeb popping their cloggs, our runners showed how they are fit as a fiddle by seeing out the final day of 2016 with running shoes on.

Gareth Wainwright was the first K&D runner home in 17:25. He was followed by Darren John in 18:17 and Michael Swann in 18:40. For the ladies Jane Evans was first home but didn’t scan her barcode; meaning the win goes to Flick Sharp in 19:58. She was followed by Sarah Cattell in 24:25 and Kerry Whitehill in 25:53.

In the PB booth for the New Years Celebrations were Craig Campbell in 21:02, James Taylor in 18:58 and Rob Houlston in 18:51. PB Corner is very masculine this week. You can almost smell the testosterone.

Congrats too to Steven Evans who joined the 50 club.

Also a massive well done to Sarah Cattell who joined the 100 club.

Tamar Trails parkrun

Seeing out 2016 in Devon was Ian Voaden who ran 22:24 in Tavistock.

Colby parkrun

Steve Marks took on Pembrokeshire; Colby in particular. Steve ran 37:15.

Haga parkrun

Over in Sweden Riina Kuuselo defied the cold to clock 21:14. Actually weather in Stockholm is about three degrees at the moment. Not too bad at all.

Great Running Team. New Years Day results to follow at some point when i’ve managed to stop looking like a drowned rat. So moist.
